Create to develop; develop to create. A framework.

Create to develop and develop to create. The fulfillment of ones own dreams requires the achievement of development goals by the means of constantly re-evaluated change towards genuineness. How does your ‘Happy Colorful Growth’ way look like?

Personal development theories and approaches seem to focus on one or several particular aspects or dimensions of personality, but none appear to consider human personality in its full scope, depth and integrity. Therefore I’ve put together a holistic personal growth development framework that balances the need for a holistic view and a still comparatively handy overview.

1. Explore the relevant elements of the personal growth universe

Through the overlap of the circles spirit, heart, and mind (and body) the other elements of the personal growth universe are derived. E.g., where spirit and heart meet, there is prime happiness, i.e., presence without attachment to the outer materialistic world.

2. Create your personality

I differentiate between a ‘personal creation process’ and a ‘personal development process’. The creation process is more intuitive, experimental, and let’s say natural. It happens anyway, but can be applied to an extent to/as a personal growth development process intentionally.

Experience and Creation process

Experiences, coming from all kinds of communication types, senses and experiences serve as information gathering in order to learn about the personal growth universe’s elements. The better all the personal growth elements are known (documented), analysis allows to more consciously and therefore more effectively connect to the sources of our humanity and learn to know our conditions and potentials that can be realized, serving consistently the lead of our intentions.

The means by which the elements get explored and tested are unlimited in their creativity and called the ‘creation process’. The stages of ‘see it’ – ‘believe it’ – and ‘act on it’ are bi-directionally interlinked by cause and effect.

Analysis and Development process

The development process consists of ‘experience’ – ‘analysis’ – and ‘development’.

The ‘creation process’ helps to become aware of our supporting human sources, conditions, potentials, and intentions, wich eventually lead to life changes. All the relationships in the framework are iterative and bi-directional. Therefore the intentions themselves influence (positively) back the underlying potentials, conditions, and source.

Having elaborated an understanding of such a construct of systemativally related elements, the identification of key gaps and strengths does inform a personal growth development plan with concrete goals to be worked on. Development always takes place, whether positive or negative (= level of desirability), conscious or unconcsious (= level of fulfillment), or more or less dynamic (= level of progress / stagnation). Structuring personal growth development helps to make the desired transformation process personally more conscious, more controllable, and therefore motivating and more powerful and fulfilling.

Repetition and inversion of the processes

According to my experience, it is not a one-time creation process and not about one-for-all development plan. The processes get both repeated sequentially and in the reverse direction as appropriate for ones preferences and needs in order to gradually widen and deepen the discovery of the human growth universe elements.

You may experience that you have to adapt the framework according to your situation or understanding respectiely terminology. I think the most important message though is that working on the quality of the relevant ingredients of our spiritual human life is important and fun! Yes, we are spiritual beings with a human experience and not vice versa.
Practice tip: You can use such a framwork as a useful reference for sorting / tagging notes collected from journaling, reading, etc. and therefore filling it with more and more personal content that is available to you in a structured way going forward.

Processes’ walk-through examples

  1. Start creating the development process by seeing personal growth elements’ aspects and interdependencies.

2. Based on the in step 1. achieved spiritual grounding and the knowledge about the human surces stepwise turns into believing newly recognized universal laws and ones own personality as it can be respectively was experienced. Building faith is crucial as a further foundation for the manifestation of the development process.

3. The aspects of the development process that are relevant for identifying, understanding and acting upon growth are now performed in real life. This phase of the creation process represents the actual personal growth realization. The fulfillment of ones own dreams requires the achievement of the development goals by the means of constantly re-evaluated change towards genuineness.

You seem fairly prescriptive! Do you see art appreciation as a means of finding more meaning in life?

    • Thanks for your comment. I am quite interested in the background of your question and your own view.
Yes, for me art is meaning. As it is with life itself. I see art as a courageous authentic means for communicating compassion and possibilities for positive change.
